Why am I getting a "not authorized" message when I try to access the databases?

The first thing affected users should do when receiving this message  is verify their enrollment status with the Registrar’s office and make sure that there are no holds (financial, health services, etc.) on your record.  You can email registrarrequest@bridgeport.edu asking for that information, or check in Self-Service or the UB portal for any notifications.

After verifying that there are no holds, etc., or resolving any holds that exist, ticket(s) should be opened with IT.  After contacting the registrar’s office using the email above, you should get an email response which can be included in the ticket to IT.  To open the ticket with IT, email helpdesk@bridgeport.edu.  Include the status info from the Registrar’s office (you can forward their email to helpdesk@), include the resource you are trying to access (name of database), and include the Not Authorized message.  You can also include if you have previously been able to access this database and if you don’t know the date, roughly when that was (last week, last month, last semester, etc.)

Some users for an unknown reason are missing an attribute that IT can add.
